RECIPE SAND PLANTS As specifications for sand become ever more rigorous while many sand deposits become less and less consistent, producers must rethink the standard methods of sand production. Understanding these issues and concerns, the LPT Group has been a leader in the development of fractionated sand plants a.k.a. recipe sand plants.   By producing a basic range of discrete sand fractions and reblending them as necessary, recipe plants not only deliver a variety of sand products, but the uniformity of those products are highly dependable. Meanwhile, these systems also minimize the loss of saleable fractions among the tailings.   LPT offers two basic styles of recipe plant systems to fit your need. The most versatile system uses a series of bins for storage of the fractionated sands. Based on the product required, feeders at the bottom of these bins meter out exact quantities which when combined can meet the most stringent size requirements. These systems are useful for operations that produce a myriad of sands for different industries. A less complex system uses an algorithm designed to blend the sand fractions “on the fly” without use of bins. This, our “In-line Recipe Plant”, offers the operator many of the same advantages as the bin system at a reduced investment.
